Sophisticated Features of Hyundai The Grand Santa Fe

Even though in its fourth generation, the All New Santa Fe already has a futuristic shape, a new platform that feels very comfortable and stiff, a variety of new technologies and a diesel engine that is known to be very fast, but there are not a few domestic loyalists. A luxury SUV that is still not satisfied with the features presented in the GLS and XG variants. So, what should be known about the new variant, the Hyundai The Grand Santa Fe, which is now a sophisticated vertical feature? Check out the details below right away.

1. Supreme Variant

Complementing what was previously available, The Grand Santa Fe is the highest variant of the All New Santa Fe in Indonesia. So from the lowest there are GLS, XG and the highest, The Grand Santa Fe.

However, the name "Grand" should not be confused with the global version of Grand Santa Fe, which is longer. This is the same model as the fourth generation sold here now with the TM body code, it is just the higher variant.

2. Smart Electric Luggage

Unlike the All New Santa Fe GLS and XG which still use manual suitcases, The Grand Santa Fe is equipped with suitcases that can be operated electrically. Uniquely, this is not the only open-close function provided. There are also some smart features that are embedded in this electric trunk.

The first is the Smart Power Tailgate. This feature can be activated and deactivated via MID (Multi Information Display). This function can open the trunk door without having to press any button or perform any leg movements, just close to the trunk door and it will open automatically.

One more thing, the speed of opening and closing the trunk door can also be adjusted via MID. The slower speed works to open luggage in tight spaces, if unsure whether the door will get stuck around it or not. Whereas the faster one will be suitable for use in other circumstances.

3. TFT LCD Cluster

Unlike the All New Santa Fe GLS and XG which uses an instrument cluster with MID in the form of a monochrome LCD which has a very complete menu, the Grand Santa Fe variant has applied a 7 inch full color TFT LCD type. Cool, this MID design looks integrated with the rest of the analog instrument cluster on both sides.

The information available resembles the monochrome LCD version, very complete with various smart indicators such as notifying when the light and wiper levers are changed.

Most unique, the back color of the MID and instrument cluster lights, also the theme can change according to the driving mode (Drive Mode) that is being used. When entering ECO mode it will turn green, it will turn blue in Comfort mode and red in Sport. Meanwhile, in Smart mode, the colors will follow the driving style which automatically changes the mode. In addition, the MID can also be changed with the theme to digital and analog screens.

4. Head Unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Instead of using a 5-inch monochrome head unit (HU) like the GLS and XG variants, this time The Grand Santa Fe entrusts its cabin entertainment system to the HU 7-inch touch screen. Cool, this head unit still adheres to a floating design that gives it its own modern impression.

Physical controls in the form of several buttons and two buttons for changing songs and adjusting the volume are also still provided as an alternative to make control easier while driving.

The media that can be played are USB and AUX which are integrated with the ports below, Bluetooth for phone functions and music streaming. A unique function, is the availability of a voice note application to record voice directly from the head unit.

5. It has 6 Airbags, Camera and ECM

Although the safety features of the All New Santa Fe have improved dramatically compared to the previous generation, The Grand Santa Fe has prepared further surprises for this aspect of safety.

Airbags aka 4 additional airbags from the previous 2 in GLS and XG, now a total of 6 airbags with additional side airbags on the seats to protect the thorax and service, also in the side curtain airbags.

If previously there was a 4-point parking sensor integrated on the back of this Korean fast SUV, now this function is a direct addition to the reverse camera. Certainly not just an aftermarket addition, it's a high-quality reverse camera brought straight from the Korean Santa Fe with a guide line that rotates when the wheel is turned.

Uniquely, there are two different angles of this camera. When put in reverse gear, it will show a wider zoom out & wide angle. Meanwhile, when activated with the "VIEW" button from the center console, it will display a straighter angle to the back. One more, now available Electrochromatic Mirror aka ECM, a rearview mirror that can provide blue light to reduce the glare of car lights behind at night. day. Oh yes, ECM and reverse camera are now also available in the All New Santa Fe GLS and XG variants.

Of course, these new security features complement the many previously listed ones. Such as disc brakes on each tire, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Control and Vehicle Stability Control, electric parking brake with Auto Hold function, hill assist control to downhill brake control.

6. No Blank Keys

Thanks to each new feature above, the effect is that now there is nothing completely empty in it. Yes, in other words, feel like using a full spec car.

For example, on the right side of the steering wheel, each button is fully populated with features of electric trunk openings, stability control switches, level control instrument cluster information and headlight leveling leveling. Even on the center console, every button is occupied. There is an EPB (Electronic Parking Brake), Auto Hold, Drive Mode toggle button, Downhill Brake Control activator, parking sensor switch and a "VIEW" button to activate the reverse camera.

Likewise on the steering wheel, which is packed with cruise control buttons, audio and MID controls and paddle shift. Overall, the features of The Grand Santa Fe are much more complete and look more luxurious thanks to the loss of every empty button.

7. Electric Passenger Seat

For the GLS and XG variants, the All New Santa Fe has an electric setting for the driver's seat. To be precise, an 8-way setting with detailed front and rear height that can be adjusted individually, also with the addition of a two-way lumbar setting.

Especially for the Grand Santa Fe variant, the front passenger seats are also equipped with an electric setting. But unlike most cars, which seat fewer passengers than the driver, in Santa Fe it is still 8 directions.

In addition, buttons are also provided to adjust the slide and recline to the right of the front passenger seat. Its function is so that the driver and rear passenger can move the front passenger seat so that it gets stuck, to provide additional space in the back.

8. Available only in Black Color

From the outside, the only difference between The Grand Santa Fe and the XG variant is the addition of the "Grand" emblem over the "Santa Fe" emblem. The rest, exactly the XG variant, such as the use of a grille with minimalist chrome trim and giant 19-inch wheels.

Oh yes, the highest variant of the All New Santa Fe is only available in black, Phantom Black. What is unique, it turns out that each trim is satin chrome in other colors, black to dark chrome with a gold color that looks unique.

9. Minor Interior Changes

Although at first glance it looks the same as the other variants, it turns out that Hyundai  has pinned a few changes to the cabin of The Grand Santa Fe. Both use leather for the upholstery, but in the highest variant it uses a diamond motif on the top of the first and second row seats. One more thing, the ceiling is given a fabric pattern that is darker and busier than in the GLS and XG variants. The feel is even more refined and premium, what is unique is that the fabric this time extends to the A pillar, B pillar and C pillar.

10. Only Available in Diesel Variants

Apart from only having the Phantom Black option, engine matters, the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe also only has the diesel engine option. For those who forgot, the Hyundai R 2.2 diesel engine is known to be very ferocious even though it only has a capacity of 2,199 cc. With a maximum power of 190hp / 193 PS and 441 Nm / 45 Kg.m of torque, this engine is able to make the All New Santa Fe travel 100 km / h from rest in just 8.4.
